Russell O. Manty, of East Bridgewater, MA, & formerly of Walpole, MA. Born in 1935, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2014, surrounded by his family. Russell was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Anne (Mariani) Manty, who died in 1979, and survived, by his beloved wife of 30 years, Virginia (Bregoli) Manty. Loving father of Stephen Manty and his wife Susan, of Franklin, Jeanne Vandenberg and her husband Artie, of Stoughton, Paul Manty and his wife Terri, of Plainville, and Michael Manty and his wife Nancy of North Attleboro. Stepfather of William Bregoli of Astoria NY, Bonnie Bregoli of Braintree , Kenneth Bregoli of Quincy, Ronald and his wife Suzanne Brigoli , of Hanson and Donna Bregoli of Braintree. Devoted Grampa to Jessica Burke and her husband Chris, Gregory Manty, Kathleen Manty, Megan Vandenberg, Julia Vandenberg, Adam Manty and his wife Kjersti, Jacob Manty and his wife Maci, Kelsey Manty, Sarah Manty and her fiancé Evan Cucé, Christine Manty, Caroline Manty, Kenneth Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, and great-grandson Mason Manty. Russell spent his professional career as an electrical design engineer, working for several government contractors, and his work benefitted various organizations including NASA and the Armed Services. Russ also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life -- birdwatching, fishing, puzzles, and sharing sweets with his grandchildren. His lifelong love of woodworking saw him not only build his own home, but also craft many treasures, including furniture, carvings, and treehouses. He will be truly and dearly missed by his family and friends.
