William Henry “Bill” Cravey, 85, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Charles Cravey officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Cravey was born September 6, 1928, in Dodge County, Georgia, to the late John Hance Cravey and Annie Pearl Walker Cravey Poole. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in the shipping department at the Cotton Mill and was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his children: Sue & Howard Kitchens, Marsha & Mickey Melton, Connie Cravey, Donna Lynn Cravey, and William “Dirk” Cravey & Tammy, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jessica Cravey Williams, Kristal Taylor Cravey, Duane Santana, Mark Santana, Michael Santana, Michelle Bass, Nickey Brewer, and Cody Melton; a great-grandson: Jake Williams; and a brother: James & Linda Cravey of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Dora Seagroves Cravey; three grandchildren: Suzanne Melton, Rita Santana, and Eric Santana; and a brother: Claxton Cravey.
