Obituary

Richard L. Ham, age 77, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Dick was survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Ann (Gaetz) Ham, his son, Jeffrey L. Ham and his fiancée, Natasha Stewart both of Norton, his brother, Stephen D. Ham of Londonderry, NH and his uncle, Nelson Ham of Newton.
Richard was born in Pittsburg, PA, and grew up and lived in Wellesley before moving to Abington in 1966. He attended Franklin Institute before graduating from Northeastern University and was a member of the United Masonic Lodge in Weymouth.
He served his country in the Navy from 1957 to 1963. Dick was a Senior Designer for General Dynamic’s Electric Boat in Groton, CT for 21 years not retiring until the age of 76.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dick’s memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370-1055, the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or the South Shore Humane Society, P.O. Box 850187, Braintree, MA 02185.
