Sara (Dos Santos) Matos, age 89 of Somerset, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014. Born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of the late João V. Matos and the daughter of the late Agostinho and Ermelinda (Raposa) Dos Santos. She was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.
She is survived by her children: Fernando S. Matos, wife Marcia of Somerset, Paula M. Roderick, husband Philip of Somerset, Maria Helena Sousa, husband José of Canada; her sister: Gertrude Costa of Somerset; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Agostinho, Manuel, & Escolastica Dos Santos, and Eduarda Freitas.
Her wake will take place MONDAY from 8-10 A.M. in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. www.rogersfuneral.com.
