Dartmouth – Deane Ashley Freitas, age 68 of Dartmouth, died, on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital with his family at his side. He was the best friend and loving husband of Judith (Emery) Freitas of Dartmouth. Mr. Freitas was born July 9, 1946 in New Bedford, Ma., living most of his life in Dartmouth, working for the Town of Dartmouth School Dept. Deane was the son of the late Ashley Freitas and Isabelle Oliveira, he was also the stepson of the late John Oliveira.
Besides his wife Judy he had a son : Jason Freitas and his wife Judy, Daughters: Susan Vargas and her husband Rick, Torey Steele and her husband Bobby, and Jody Szala, as well as 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with # 5 due in September and 2 nieces. He is predeceased by his sister Becky Souza.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. Services are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
