Obituary

ydia Torres 74, of Roberta Ave. died Friday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center . She was the wife of Juan E. Torres Gomez whom she married in Rio Piedros, Puerto Rico in February of 1967. Born in Adjunta, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Raphael Quiles and Gloria Maria Natal. Lydia worked as a DCYF certified child care assistant for Belisle Home Day Care in Woonsocket for eight years. She was a very active volunteer and teacher in her church. Lydia was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt and will be sadly missed by all.

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter Diamela Belisle of Woonsocket, son Alan Torres of Wallingford, CT, brother, Hector Luis Quiles, sisters, Gloria E. Quiles, Anna Rosa Rivera , five grandchildren, Keith, Kyle and Erica Perkins, and Jasmine and Matthew Torres, and a great-grandson Kaiden Robitaille as well as twenty one nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Felix Torres and sister of the late Arsenio L. Quiles, Raphael Quiles, Luz Cecilia Sepulvida, Theresa Quiles and Maria Quiles.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, followed by burial in Union Cemetery in North Smithfield. Visiting Hours will be Tuesday 5-8 PM.
