Gladys E. Davis
Mrs. Gladys E. Davis wife of Colonel (Ret.) David L. Davis entered into rest on Thursday, July 10, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Davis grew up in Sharon, Pennsylvania, traveled the world as a devoted Army wife and made Augusta her home for the past 46 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, The Anna Bannister Sunday School Class and Wildwood Garden Club.
Family members, in addition to her husband of 71 years, include daughter Elizabeth (Beth) D. Jones (Harold); son David L. Davis Jr. (Carole); grandsons H.Bradford Jones Jr. ( Katie), David C. Jones (Cammie) and Matthew D. Jones (Sky) all of Augusta, GA; granddaughters Elizabeth M. Davis of Nashville, TN and Mary Katherine Davis of Houston, TX; eight great-grandchildren; and dear friend Vertis Woods.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staffs of Elmcroft and the Pavillion of Brandon Wilde for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Storey Chapel in First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. C. Gregory DeLoach officiating. The family will receive family and friends following the service.
