Maria C. (Avila) Campagna of Malden died Wednesday, July 9th in the Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. Born and raised in Boston's North End and East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Rose (Dellaria) Avila. Maria lived in Medford for 20 years before moving to Malden, where she spent the past 37 years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Campagna and devoted mother of Alfred Campagna of Malden, Ronald Campagna and his wife Linda of Arlington, Rosemarie McLaughlin and her husband William of Wakefield. Maria was the loving grandmother of Ronald Campagna Jr. and his wife Sherri-Anne, Michael Campagna and his wife Tara, Christine Keane and her husband Robert, William McLaughlin III and his wife Becky, Cheryl Landry and her husband Steve. She was the loving great grandmother of 16 great grandchildren, and sister of Rose Gorham and her husband Joseph of West Roxbury, Ida Maguire and her husband Joe of Belmont, the late Samuel Avila and his wife Isabelle of Norwood. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, July 14th, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 8:30 through 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
