Betty W. (Wade) Roy of Natick passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at home with family by her side. She was eighty-seven years of age.
Born on December 24, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late James and Marion (Scannell) Wade. She was a 1944 graduate of Beards High School and a 1948 graduate of Newark Teacher’s College.
Mrs. Roy was the devoted wife of the late Donn H. Roy and together they shared forty-nine years of marriage.
She was the loving mother of Donna J. Noone Caffarelli of Wilson, North Carolina, Elizabeth R. Davis and her husband Royal of Franklin and Jamie (Roy) Loynd of Natick.
Cherished grandmother of Donnajane Mercer of Florida, Kerrianne Donnelly of Holbrook, Virginia Baggan and her husband Kevin of Saugus, Marion Lunn and her husband Christopher of Clinton, Megan Davis and her husband Scott Slade, also of Clinton, Justin Loynd of Framingham, James Loynd, also of Framingham and Hannah Loynd of N. Kingstown, RI.
Doting great grandmother of Kyle Mercer, Taylor Donnelly, Cody Pineault, Kayla Baggan, Davis Lunn, Jack Lewis and Will Slade.
Betty was a member of Saint David’s Episcopal Church of Englewood, Florida for over thirty-five years and worked in the Thrift Shop. She was also a member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church of Natick and worked as a substitute teacher for the Natick Public Schools for ten years.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and traveling to places such as Bermuda, Bahamas, Alaska, Singapore, Russia and Ireland.
A Memorial Service will be held in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 39 E. Central St., Natick on Tuesday, July 15th at 9:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
