Obituary

NATICK: Peter S. Garcia, age 55, a lifelong Natick resident and Marine Corps veteran, died on Sunday morning, July 6, 2014, after a long illness.

A 1976 graduate of Natick High School, he was a son of the late Gustavo and Petra (Cueva) Garcia. Peter worked as a baker for Wonder Bread prior to enlisting in the United States Mariner Corps. He served as a supply administrator in various parts of the world, holding the rank of Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge in 1985.

Peter had a talent for carpentry and worked for several years as a general contractor with AAA Construction, later making use of his knowledge working at The Home Depot in Natick. In 1998, Peter became employed with Best Buy in Natick, selling and installing home appliances. He moved to the appliance area at Sears in 2011, where he worked until his illness. Peter loved fishing, whether on summer vacation at Sebago Lake in Maine, ice fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee, or organizing family fishing tournaments at Framingham’s Farm Pond or Pickerel Pond in Natick. A classic television enthusiast and old movie buff, Peter most enjoyed time with his large extended family.
