J. Roger Dufault 77, of Mendon Rd. died July 5, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Aldea (Comtois) Dufault. Roger worked as a meat cutter for Finest, Almacs and IGA Supermarkets for many years. He later became a Real Estate Broker and started Dufault Real Estate which he operated from 1973 – 2002. He served in the US Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Cercle Laurier and the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #850. Roger was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a square dance caller with his own square dance group called the Duffy Squares.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Marceau and her husband Russell of Lincoln, and two grandsons Brad and Thomas, a sister Claire Cartier of Vero Beach, FL, a brother Andre Dufault of Forestdale. He was also the brother of the late Therese Lebrun, Leo and Richard Dufault and Simone Laroque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations to the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #850, P O Box 879 Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.
