Founder of Minnesota MENSA. Age 75. Passed away on July 5, 2014 with his family by his side. Preceded in death by parents Robert & Isabelle. Survived by a very loving & caring wife Ching; children Cherie, Eric, Melissa & Natalie; grandson Jamie; sisters Gale Holt (Michael) & Lisa Buchal; brother Lance; Aunt Rita and very special friend since childhood Richard Gillette (Gloria); special friends Terri, Barbara, Dianne & Brennan. Also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives & friends. Robert achieved four college degrees and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Ph.D. in Education. Life Memberships of Phi Kappa Phi, National Education Association and American Radio Relay League (N0AFY); retired from St. Paul Schools in 1997 and final teaching assignment at Cebu International School in the Philippines. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday (7/12) at 10:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 Margaret Street, North St. Paul. Visitation Friday (7/11) from 4-7:00pm at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Avenue, North St. Paul and one hour before the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
