Obituary

Laconia---- Fred C. Richardson, MD, 84, of Laconia, New Hampshire died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center resulting from a fall at his home.
Dr. Richardson was born June 12, 1930, In Tartness, PA to Archie M. and Rosalie (Walter) Richardson, both deceased.
Dr. Richardson was a graduate of Tarentum High School, Tarentum, PA, Allegheny College, Meadville, PA and Hahnemann Medical School, Philadelphia, PA. He specialized in OBGYN medicine and began his medical career with a Residency in the U.S. Navy. He located to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire in the 1950s and began his lifelong love of the area — the lakes, the sailing and the people. He practiced medicine for over 55 years and was well known and loved by his patients and community. Fred was an accomplished sailor and a Life Member of the Lake Winnipesaukee Yacht Club, former District Representative and Life Fellow of the American College of OBGYN and a charitable contributor in the community. He loved golf, the Boston Red Sox, ice cream, and the ocean. His kind, quiet and gentle manner will be missed.
Above all else, Fred was devoted to his family, the centerpiece of his life. Dr. Richardson is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, daughter, Pam Sheehan, and her husband, Peter, son, Michael Richardson, and his wife, Lisa, daughter, Amy Brown, and her husband, Sam, daughter, Addie O’Brien, and her husband, Dave, Sheila Page, son, Brian Richardson, daughter, Terri Swett, and her husband, Phil, 17 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition, he is survived by his two brothers, Archie Richardson and his wife, Helen Marie, of Pittsburgh, PA and Wilson Richardson and his wife, Linda, of Erie, PA.
Fred was preceded in death by his son, Fred Richardson, Jr., in 1994.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Rd. Gilford. Reverend Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. A private burial will take place at a later date.
