Robert D. Burke, age 78, of Raynham, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully, July 1, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. He was the loving husband for 54 years of Jeanne L. (Fortier) Burke. Bob was born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Dennis J. and Edith (Tonelli) Burke. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1954 and received a degree in Economics from Boston College in 1958. For 20 years Bob had been employed by Mammoth Mart, and also worked at Crescent Credit Union and Ace Surgical Supply until his retirement. He was a member of the Army National Guard and longtime communicant of St. Edward’s Church. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at Pine Oaks Golf Course in South Easton.
In addition to his wife Jeanne, he is survived by his children Deborah Desrosiers of Raynham, Robert Burke and his wife Diane of Northboro and Paul Burke and his wife Ana of Raynham. He was the grandfather of Christopher Anthony and his wife Nicole, Matt and Mikayla Burke and Sydney, Paul and Jonah Burke. He was the father of the late John F. Burke.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 5-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9am for a funeral Mass in St. Ann Church’s, Raynham at 10am. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
