Donna M. (McGowan) Cummins, a 21 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Malden and Dublin, Ireland, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. She was 49 years old.
Donna was born in Birmingham, England on May 16, 1965, a daughter of Phyllis (Dalton) McGowan and James McGowan. She grew up in Birmingham, England where she was educated through high school and attended several college courses in accounting. After arriving in the Unites States from Dublin, Ireland where she lived for several years, Donna lived in Malden before moving her family to Wakefield. She was a Nurses Aide for over 12 years in the surrounding communities. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking and most of all her quality time she was able to spend with her family.
Donna is the beloved and devoted wife of 27 years to Patrick M. "Mick" Cummins. She is the loving mother to Michael S. Cummins, Conor G. Cummins, Roisin P. Cummins and Declan J. Cummins all of Wakefield. She is the beloved daughter of Phyllis McGowan of Dublin, Ireland and James McGowan. She is the beloved sister of Sean MacGabhan of Ireland and Dominic MacGabhan of Ireland. She is the dear niece of Patricia and Kenneth Hyland of Stoneham. She is also survived by many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donna's Funeral on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 8:45 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
