Obituary

Worcester – Norman J. Gallant, 76, of Worcester, died on Friday, June 27th in Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Gallant was married for 57 years to Doreen T. (Gauvin) Gallant; he also leaves behind three daughters, Patty MacAlister and her husband Craig of Glenburn, ME, Darlene Lopriore and her husband Steve of Oxford and Deborah Campbell and her husband George of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Elissa, Stephanie, Sarah, Gregory, Eric, Kayli and Meaghan; two great grandchildren, Ariana and Liliana; four brothers, Oscar, Ben and Eugene all of Moncton, NB, Canada and Paul of Leicester; four sisters, Florence, Gloria and Irene of Moncton, NB, Canada and Violet of Ontario, Canada.

Norman was born in Moncton, NB, Canada son of the late Emile and Margaret (Surette) Gallant and is also predeceased by 5 brothers and sisters, Edward, Edna, Dorine, Roy and Bill.

He worked for many years at the former H.H. Brown Shoe, the former L. Farber Company and also the Barbour Welt Corporation located in Brockton. Norman was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council #88, Our Lady of the Angels Church and previously Holy Name of Jesus Church until its closing.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 1st from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 Am in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Monday, June 30th from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Norman may be made to the St. Vincent Hospital Cancer and Wellness Center 1 Eaton Place Worcester, MA 01608.
