New Bedford – Maria DaSilva, age 73 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her home. She was the longtime companion of Rogerio Borges and the daughter of Beatriz (Cabral) and Antonio deSousa Calisto. She was born in Sao Miguel, Açores and, after moving to this country, devoted herself to the upbringing of her loving family.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Rogerio, of New Bedford, 2 daughters: Maria Calisto of New Bedford and Margarida Raposo and her husband, Fernando, of Sao Miguel; as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 1 from 8 – 9:30 A.M. with a Religious Service to be conducted at 8:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
