Obituary


James M. Gilmore of Canton, formerly of Falmouth and Naples FL., died Wednesday June 25, 2014 following a long illness. He was 80 years old.

Born in Boston, he graduated from Cathedral High School. James was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Boston Edison as a store manager and later in the garage until retirement. Son of the late Patrick and Katherine Gilmore. Devoted husband for over 58 years to Elsie M. (Deveau) of Canton. Loving brother of Sister Catherine M. Gilmore C.S.J. of Framingham. Margaret E. Meissner and her husband Francis of Canton, and the late Edward P. Gilmore and his wife Elaine of Canton. Beloved uncle to many devoted nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home 210 Sherman St. Canton, MA Sunday June 29, from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday in St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St., Canton at 10:30 AM. Interment with Veterans Honors in Canton Corner Cemetery.
