Helen E. Nassar, 91, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
She was born in Lawrence on March 30th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Eva (Bogannam) Nassar. Helen was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
She was a devout parishioner of Saint Joseph's Melkite Church in Lawrence, MA.
Helen worked in purchasing and bookkeeping for the Nianza Company in Lawrence, MA., and later worked for the Arlington Trust Company also in Lawrence.
She was a hardworking, strong, independent woman who was quite busy with many hobbies including baking, knitting, and following pro sports. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan. She was most passionate and devoted to her family and friends. Helen was noted for regularly corresponding with her extended family and friends via personal care packages that include words of advice, news articles and mementos.
She is survived by 8 Nephews, 5 Nieces, and 24 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her sisters: Jennie, Alvine and Rosie
and her brothers: Robert, Philip and William.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Friday, June 27th, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
Her funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28th, 2014 at 11:30 in Saint Joseph's Melkite Church in Lawrence, MA. Her burial will take place in Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
