Obituary

Mark A. Hall, a 56 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 23, 2014 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was 83 years old.

Mark was born in Boston on May 12, 1931, a son of the late Thomas Hall and Bridget (Griffin) Hall. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Mark enlisted into the United States Army on July 18, 1950 and served his country with courage and pride during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on July 17, 1953 with the rank of Private First Class. Mark worked for the Polaroid Corporation for many years in their security department. He was a member of a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards at the Cambridge Senior Center, the outdoors and was also an avid Red Sox Fan.

Mark is the beloved husband of 55 years to Frances A. (McGonagle) Hall. He is the devoted father of Karen Hall of Somerville, Mark F. Hall & his fiancé Donna Wiwatowski of Rutland and Michelle Hall and Nicole of Danvers. He is the loving Papa to Mark F. Jr., Jennifer and Matthew. He is the beloved brother of Francis Hall and his wife Ellen, Margaret LaVigueur, Kenneth Hall and the late Sandra Chase, Thomas Hall, James Hall and Richard Hall. He is the brother-in-law of Arlene Hall and Carolyn Hall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mark's Funeral Mass on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
