After a gallant struggle against COPD, Diane Fallowfield Dunn succumbed on June 20, 2014. Diane was born on January 27, 1936 in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England, the elder daughter of Herbert and Mattie Charnley Fallowfield. The family came to the U.S., Mattie’s native land, in 1958, settling in Orlando. Having met her future husband, William G. Dunn, at a church retreat in 1962, the couple wed in 1963 and began married life in Jacksonville.
Diane was an active leader at John C. Stockton Elementary School and in Stokesia Garden Circle. She loved to travel, played team tennis at Florida Yacht Club and social bridge, and enjoyed the fellowship of many friends, near and far. Her greatest joy was her family, sons Ian and Kevin and daughter Ashley, who blessed her further with daughters-in-law Jill and Anna, and six delightful grand children – Charlotte, Alex, Erica, Barrow, Sloan, and Strummer. Younger sister Sandra married James Holt, further expanding the circle with nephews Michael and Trevor and grand-nephews Isaiah, Kade and Avery.
A memorial celebration of Diane's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, at St.
Johns Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jon Lovelady officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to either St. Johns Presbyterian Church, 4275 Herschel, St., Jacksonville, FL 32210, or Community Hospice of N. E. Florida, 4114 Sunbeam Rd., Bldg. 100, Ste. 101, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
