Obituary

NATICK: Lindo P. Bregoli, age 91, a retired landscaper and caretaker, died on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014, at MetroWest Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born at home in South Natick, he was a son of the late Comevu and Rosa (Ferarini) Bregoli, and a graduate of the Natick Public Schools. Lindo joined the Army in 1943, and served in the Pacific Theatre as an antiaircraft gunner. He saw action in battles for New Guinea and Luzon, and was awarded a ribbon with a bronze battle star for his participation at the Philippine Liberation.

Lindo, an accomplished landscaper, was employed with his brother George’s landscaping business for over forty years. For years he spent his spare time helping at Glenwood Cemetery, and after his retirement became very much involved in all aspects of grounds and maintenance. Fond of working quietly in his vegetable gardens, Lindo was a kindhearted man who stood ready to lend a hand or an encouraging word to family and friends alike.

He is survived by his brother, Severino J. “Pete” Bregoli, with whom he shared their family home; and many nieces and nephews and their families. His sister, Adele Handley, and brothers, Bensiabello “Benzi”, Galducci “George”, Alfredo “Fred”, Walter, and Valentino “Val” Bregoli, all predeceased him.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, 50 Glenwood Street, Natick, on Thursday, June 26th at 11:30a.m. Arrangements are with John Everett & Sons, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.

Gifts in Lindo’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
