Obituary

Max J. Sierpina, 93 of Methuen passed away peacefully at his late residence on June 15, 2014. Max was a life long resident of Methuen. He was born in Methuen on June 6, 1921 to the late Frank and Albina Sierpina. Max attended the Methuen Schools and was a graduate of the Edward Searles High School, Class of 1940. Following his high school graduation, Mr. Sierpina went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from Andrew Wilson Co and was the owner/operator of Sierpina’s Tree Farm. He was a life member of VFW Post 8349 of Methuen and also a member of the Massachusetts Farm Bureau.

Max was the beloved husband of Edna (Domoradzki) Sierpina for 68 years. He was the devoted father of Frank Sierpina and his wife Beverly, Daniel Sierpina and his wife Kathie and Joanna Majewski and her husband Joseph. He was the dear brother of the late Victor Sierpina and the late Stephen Sierpina. Max was the loving grandfather of Lori Simons, Michael Sierpina, Kathleen Carlton, Carl Majewski, Jeremy Majewski, Elizabeth Fernands, Anne Jenkins and Stephanie Putland. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Friend and guests are invited to call on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, Methuen. Burial with full military honors will take place following the Mass of Christian Burial at the Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. Building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sierpina Family.
