Obituary

NATICK: Martha Alice Swanson Lang, age 86, died peacefully on Sunday morning, June 15, 2014, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence. Martha was born in Cambridge on May 15, 1928, but spent most of her life in Natick surrounded by her large and loving family, enjoying meeting with her children daily for coffee, doting on her pet cats and bunnies, and taking family trips to Cape Cod. She loved her home, which she decorated with tributes to her Swedish heritage. She delighted in learning about her ancestral history and was able to visit with her extended family in Sweden three times over the recent years. A fan of technology (often better versed in new technology than her children,) she used it to stay actively involved with her grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ lives from afar.

She is survived by her children, Judith Mitchell and her husband Roy of Natick, Nancy Brenner and her husband Richard of Fairfield, CT, Susan Clark of Natick, Carole Santello and her partner Robert Molvar of Lexington, Janet Sherman and her husband Dana of Natick, and Robert Lang and wife Lauren of Natick; her grandchildren, Shaun, Jonathan, Dana, Courtney, Bethany, Samantha, Linnea, Jillian, Allison, Sarah, Maia, Alexis, and Erika; and nine great-grandchildren, Meghan, Alex, Sage, Aiden, Hanna, Hunter, Zackary, Lily, and Ivy. Martha was predeceased by her parents, Carl Erik and Hanna Swanson, her husband, Robert Edward Lang, her son-in-law, Peter Clark, and two grandsons, Peter Mitchell and Andrew Brenner.

Her funeral service will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Thursday, June 19th at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Dell Park Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, 4 – 7p.m.

Donations may be made in Martha’s memory to the Parmenter Foundation (Parlin House) 400 Boston Post Road, Suite 1A, Sudbury, MA 01776.
