METHUEN – Gaude Marie Cécile (LePelch) Rubin, 70, left this world on Monday, 9 June 2014.
Born in Blida, Algeria, to the late François and Jeanne (Moncelet) LePelch of Brittany, France, she is survived by her devoted husband, Joël Rubin, and her two loving daughters, Corinne Jocelyne Rubin and Guénaëlle Colette Jeanne Maria, and son-in-law Michael.
Before settling down in Methuen, where she lived for 30 years, she led a richly nomadic life, moving from France, to Québec, to Virginia, to Washington, DC, with her parents, her brothers François LePelch (Maryland) and the late Joël LePelch (Florida), and sisters Jocelyne Guimon and Yannick Maraval (France). In 1970, she was married in Connecticut and started a family, who then relocated to Switzerland for four years.
Gaude was a devoted parishioner of St Monica’s church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and lector, and prayed for and was loved by many. In her early years, she worked as a dental assistant, and in her late 50s, became a certified assistant nurse. In every aspect of her life, Gaude helped family, friends, and strangers alike in their time of need. She epitomized Love, enriched us all, and is sorely missed.
