Obituary

Eleanor L. (Siegel) Goldberg, 90, of Peabody beloved wife of Edward Goldberg died June 6th in Salem Hospital surrounded by her family. Born, in Chelsea she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bella (Tatilman) Siegel.
Raised and educated in Chelsea a graduate of Chelsea High School Class of 1941, and continued her education from a Junior College receiving her degree as a legal Secretary.
Upon completion of school Eleanor worked at Mass General Hospital as an assistant to the Director of Radiology. She entered the military during World War II serving with the WAVES in the United States Navy as a pharmacist mate 2nd class in San Diego After her service she was employed with Perlman & Perlman Law Firm of Boston as a legal secretary, then in later years with the firm again in Chelsea part time. She retired after 32 years as a legal secretary for The North Shore Elder Service. Mrs. Goldberg was very involved with Temple Ner Tamid of Peabody, The Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home and Women in the Military Service of America. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, Eleanor is survived by hers sons Matthew Goldberg of Beverly and Arthur Goldberg of Peabody, Grandchildren Samantha Gerlovin and her husband Lev, Andrew Goldberg and his wife Bethany, Alexander Goldberg and 4 great-grandchildren., and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sidney and Arnold Siegel. Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel 151 Washington Ave., (Cary Sq.), Chelsea, MA 02150, Tuesday June 10 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Mishna Cemetery, Fuller St. Everett. No memorial observance per family request. Contributions can be made in Eleanor’s memory to the charity of your choice.
