Obituary

LOWELL: Carl A. Mascaro, 63, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 in the Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Born in Haverhill on December 23, 1950, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Mary G. (Dwinnells) Mascaro. Carl was currently living in Lowell but had resided in Haverhill for most of his life. He graduated in 1968 from the former Haverhill Trade School and studied welding while he was a student there.
Carl worked as a millwright for many years for the former Lucent Technologies in Andover. He was a huge sports fan and had a passion for playing football, baseball, and basketball. He was a proud supporter of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. Carl also coached his son, John in football and baseball as well as many years prior. Carl would later learn that God would grant him the serenity to accept the things he could not change; courage to change the things he could; and wisdom to know the difference and in doing so for the last fifteen years there were many lives he touched with his knowledge of living a clean life. The lives of those in the fellowship that he had an impact on will be forever grateful for his presence in their lives.
He is survived by his son, John Mascaro and his wife, Rebecca of Kingston, NH; a grandson, Christian Mascaro of Quincy and a granddaughter, Vivian Mascaro of Kingston, NH; brothers and sisters, Angel Whittier and her husband, Ray, Peggy Roberts and her husband, Joseph and Nancy Guckert all of Haverhill and Thomas Mascaro; longtime companion, Debbie Andrews of Lowell and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Linda Parker and Donna Blanchard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Church, 114 Lincoln Street, Haverhill at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 4 – 7 PM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 395 North Broadway, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Carl’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
