Carol Veilleux, 80 of Methuen passed away unexpectedly at her late residence on May 29, 2014. Carol was born in Methuen on January 14, 1934 to the late Leo and Mary (Harkins) Lacasse. She was a graduate of the Edward Searles High School, Class of 1951, State Teachers College at Lowell, Class of 1955 and received her masters at Salem State College, Class of 1960. While she attended college, Carol was a member of the Women Athletic Association and participated in intramural sports. Carol was a grade 1 teacher at the Searles Elementary School in Methuen for seven years. She raised all 8 of her children in Andover and was very active in her children’s lives and schooling. She enjoyed yearly family vacations at Seabrook Beach with her children and grandchildren.
Carol was the beloved wife for 52 years of Eugene Veilleux of Methuen. She was the devoted mother of Joseph Veilleux and his wife Janice of Cary, NC, Joan Veilleux of Brownfield, ME, Robert Veilleux and his wife Kelly of Brookline, NH, John “Otis” Veilleux and his fiancé Marybeth Bradley of Methuen, James Veilleux of Joppa, MD, Mary Crump and her husband Jeff of Wakefield, Steven Veilleux of Pacifica, CA and Julie Novak and her husband Mark of Framingham. Dear sister of Joan Lacasse S.N.D. of Ipswich. Loving grandmother of Jacob, Nicholas, Sophia, Luke, Randy, Courtney, Shannon, Breanna, David, Katherine, Andrew, Sarah, Peter, James, Bodhi, Lily, Leo and the late Abigail.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Church, Methuen. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery. The Kenneth H.
