New Bedford – Jeffrey S. Chase, age 48 of New Bedford, passed away, unexpectedly, on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rachel (Krouzek) Chase. Together for 34 years, Rachel and Jeffrey shared the last 12 years in marriage. He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Rosemary and Linton Chase, spent all of his life here and worked in St. John Cemetery as well as Stride Rite Co. and American Medical Instruments.
Jeffrey was known for his laugh. He loved animals, listening to 80’s rock music and rooting on his favorite teams, the New York Giants and the Boston Bruins. But most of all, Jeffrey loved his wife and his children.
He leaves behind his wife, Rachel Chase, of New Bedford; 2 children: Michael Krouzek and Kellie Chase, both of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Brian and Brooke Chase, both of New Bedford; mother in-law, Marie Kelly, of New Bedford; as well as 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Chase will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. with a Religious Service to be conducted during that time. Cremation will follow. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
