Obituary

Catherine R. (Garbarino) Maffei 97, of Natick and Hyannis Port, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of the late Waldo M. Maffei who died in 2003.
A Natick resident for 75 years she was born in Framingham the daughter of the late Carlo and Rosa (Lagamarsino) Garbarino.
Mrs. Maffei was a longtime parishioner of St. James the Great Church in Wellesley and former past President of its Women’s Guild. She enjoyed candlepin bowling and was a member of the Fairways Women’s Thursday bowling league in Natick.
Kind and generous, Catherine took great pride in her family and friends who she dearly loved.
She is survived by her three children, Maureen R. Maffei, Marilyn A. Shepard and her husband Douglas all of Natick, Waldo M. Maffei of New York City, one brother Francis R. Garbarino and his wife Joan of Naples, FL. two grandchildren Jason D. Shepard and his wife Abby of Jamaica Plain, Matthew J. Shepard and his wife Lisa of Needham, two great-grandsons James D. Shepard, Thomas G. Shepard, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of Rose M. LaFrance and Roger J. Garbarino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Tarcisius Church 560 Waverly St. (route 135 ) Framingham at 11:00 A.M.
Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Burial in St Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Natick Visiting Nurse Association, 209 West Central Street, Natick, MA 01760.
