Robert B. ‘Bob’ Ela, III, 67, passed away , Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in his home.
He leaves his children, Alan D. Ela and his wife Holly, Robert J. Ela and his wife Melissa, two stepchildren, Staci and Tina Urbanovitch. Bob was blessed with four adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth, Robby, Roxy and Melody. He also leaves his brother Bruce Ela and his wife Donna Lee, his nephew David Ela and his niece Lacey Perreault.
He was predeceased by his brother Alan D. Ela who died serving his country in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Robert B. and Ruth C. (Nourse) Ela, II.
Bob was most remembered as the owner of Auburn Sports Plus hockey shop. He took over the family business from his father. Bob and his father worked side by side at the Webster Square Skating Rink and had been sought out by NHL teams for their skills and knowledge in the equipment and skate sharpening industry. Bob was a true craftsman and took pride in his work. He was very knowledgeable and cared about his customers.
Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid card player and he enjoyed hosting poker night in the old hockey shop. He enjoyed fishing, boating and trips to Cape Cod.
Bob will always be remembered as generous and loving to his family.

Funeral Services will be Private.
The ROBERT J.MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster is assisting Bob’s family with arrangements.
