North Andover – Laura Rita (Palermo) Santos, 92, of Methuen passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover. She was the wife of the late William E. Santos.
Born in Italy on December 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Calogero and Antonina (LaColla) Palermo. She attended Boston schools. She then worked for AT&T and as a stitcher for the Paul Sullivan Company until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Laura will be deeply missed by her daughter, Patricia A. Santos of Methuen; her daughter-in-law, Celia “Dee” Rossi of Lawrence; 3 grandchildren, Karen A. Hutchings of Methuen, Marlene M. Jesmer and her husband, Steven of Salem, NH, and Michael Santos of New Hampshire; 7 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Palermo of Stoughton, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, William C. Santos, who passed away in 1990.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Laura’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 9 – 11 AM. Her funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
