Obituary

Carolynn A. (Lang) DiRoma-Sullivan, of Plymouth, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on May 16, 2014. She was 44 years old.

Carolynn was the dear and devoted wife of John W. Sullivan. Loving mother of Michael DiRoma of Watertown, Ryan DiRoma and his girlfriend Kendra of Malden, and Brittni DiRoma and Johnny Sullivan of Plymouth. Beloved daughter of June (Stack) Bellissimo and her husband Joseph of Randolph. Dear grandmother of Kendall DiRoma. Cherished granddaughter of Florence Stack of West Roxbury. Dear step sister of William Lang and Darlene, Philip, Darin and Gina Bellissimo. Dear daughter-in-law of Elieen F. Sullivan of West Roxbury. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carolynn was always recognized by her natural red hair, outgoing personality and impish little giggle. Because of the very strong bond with her mother and her concern for her family’s happiness and welfare, she battled her illness courageously these past three years. She was a loving wife to her husband John, and so proud of her eldest son Michael and number two son, Ryan who recently became a father. She was so happy about the birth of her granddaughter Kendall in April, and even through her illness, was able to fully enjoy her beauty this past month. She was looking forward to her daughter Britnni’s high school graduation in a few weeks, and so proud that she was a straight “A” student. Little Johnny was the apple of her eye, and was a big help with Mom’s care these past few years. Before her illness, she enjoyed several very memorable family trips to New York City to enjoy the sights and see the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving parade. She spoke of those trips often, and was hoping to make it a tradition. Carolynn was a compassionate and dear young woman who will be missed by many, and will remain in our hearts forever.

Carolynn's Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday May 22, 2014 at St. Theresa of Avila Chapel.
Contributions in Carolynn’s memory may be made to the Beth Israel Deaconess Office of Development, 330 Brookline Ave. Boston MA 02215 or to the charity of your choice.

Carolynn was laid to rest on a hilltop at the Gardens at Gethsemane.
