EUGENE F. JOYAL,
Of Canton, died Wednesday evening at the Island Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeville after a lengthy illness. He was 84.
Born, raised and educated in Waltham, he was the son of the late Alde V. and Vizina (LeBlanc) Joyal. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and had been a member of the School Band.
He had been a Canton resident since 1959 and had been a longtime seasonal resident of Falmouth.
Mr. Joyal had been employed for more 25 years as an Account Executive at RPC Packaging (formerly Randolph Paper Company).
A co-founder of Canton Youth Hockey, he had been involved in many youth sports teams in town.
Mr. Joyal enjoyed playing golf and even accomplished a hole in one, he enjoyed traveling and home improvements and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was married in January of 1951 at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham to Janet (LeBlanc) Joyal who predeceased him 2011.
Mr. Joyal is survived by his sons, Donald E. Joyal and his wife Maureen of Baldwinville, Robert F. Joyal and his wife Ann of Lakeville, Scott D. Joyal and his wife Diane of Taunton, and Steven D. Joyal of Casco, ME, his sisters, Eleanor Gorgone of Framingham, Irene Murray of Maynard, Claire Knous of Putnam, CT and Phyllis Deveaux of Milford, his brother, Richard Joyal of Plymouth and his 7 grandchildren: Janelle, Chris, Michelle, Katie, Travis, Kelsey and Rachelle.
He was the brother of the late Edmund and Henry Joyal.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial In Celebration of Eugene’s Life on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Saint Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington Street, Canton. Interment will follow in the Canton Corner Cemetery. Eugene’s Family will received guests at the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
