Richard J. Onofrey, 78, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at a Hospaurs Inpatient Unit. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he is a retired Army Staff Sgt. of Vietnam and worked in Civil Service. He was a member of VFW Post #1181, DAV and the 11th Armour Calvary Assoc. He is preceded in death by his wife, Clara M. and his brother, Paul A. Onofrey. He is survived by his brother, Mike Onofrey; several nieces and nephews; two step-daughters, Judy M Rice (Ronald), Betty Jane Harder and three step-grandsons. His funeral mass will be 10 am Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Hwy, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday.
