Mildred Saunders
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Mildred “Millie” L. Saunders, 85, beloved mother, best friend, and provider passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014.
At the young age of 17, she left Arkansas to begin a career in Washington D.C. working with the Federal Government. After 30 years of service she retired at Fort Gordon as a certified court reporter.
Family members include daughters: Vicki Simmons Kelley, Katherine Stewart and husband George, Sandra Saunders; grandchildren: Jesse Newkirk, Nathan Simmons, Joey Johnson, Dallas Johnson; 3 great grandchildren: sister: Barbara Tankersley; and four legged friend: Shelby. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jesse and Zora Oxford; brother: Luther Oxford; and sister: Marie Hudspeth.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Noah Kiser officiating.
