Margaret M. “Peggy” Lester, 86 of Medford, died Monday April 14, after a long illness in the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center, Medford.

Born in Somerville, she lived in Medford for the past 58 years and formerly of Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Hayes.

Peggy was a Sales clerk at the Stop & Shop Bakery department for 20 years and retired in 1995.

Beloved wife of the late Robert B. Lester. Devoted mother of Leo Lester, Noreen Smith, Robert Lester, Kevin Lester all of Medford, Joseph Lester and Darlene DiSalvo both of Tewksbury. Also survived by 13 loving grandchildren and 4 loving great grandchildren. Sister of Genevieve Webb of Cambridge. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday April 23, at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
