Henry Douglas
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at University Hospital, Mr. Henry Tharion Douglas, Sr., 88, husband of the late Mary Ann Douglas.
Mr. Douglas was a native of Orangeburg, SC. but lived in Augusta most of his life. He graduated from Richmond Academy and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 16. He served in WWII and was a veteran of the invasion of Normandy. He was a 50 year member of the John S. Davidson Lodge, F&AM.
Family members include sons: Henry Tharion Douglas II and wife Gayle of Columbus, Carl Eugene Douglas and wife Karen of Augusta, Phillip Ray Douglas and wife Karen of Augusta; grandchildren: Henry Tharion Douglas III , Matthew Carl Douglas, Amy Winifred Monaco, Amanda Susan Chapman, Mary Ann Wilkie, Phillip Alexander Douglas; 13 great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
