Frances Sideman
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2014 at her residence, Mrs. Frances Yarbrough Sideman of Augusta.
Mrs. Sideman retired after 30 years with the Richmond County School System. She taught 9th grade English at Langford Junior High School for most of her career and later worked as a Librarian. She was a member of Augusta Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as Regent from 2006 to 2008; a life member and past Area Director of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association; a life member and past president of the Richmond County Educators Association; and a member of the American Association of University Women and Alpha Delta Kappa Honors Sorority.
Devoted to her husband, she was even the Head Mistress of Walton Way Temple Sunday School - her two sons humbly boasting of their Jewish Blood! Their grandfather the late Max Sideman a loom fixer descended from Ephraim’s Tribe which crossed the Caucasus, settled in the Ukraine, and fled the Bolsheviks circa 1917. The distaff side their late grandmother Lilly Miller of Winston Salem, NC can be genealogically, vicariously, and spiritually traced to the LION of the tribe of Judah.
The family her two sons David and Casey Sideman and a daughter Sharmon René Sideman would like to thank Beverly Roberts for her friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church with The Rev. Robert Fain officiating. Fey Hardy will serve as a Honorary Pallbearer.
