NATICK: Dorothy (LeClair) Sanderson, age 86, died on Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She was the devoted wife of the late Douglas L. Sanderson for 38 years.
Born, raised and educated in Natick, Dorothy was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gibbons) LeClair. She and Douglas were married on August 4, 1946.
Dorothy set about creating a loving environment for her growing family and relished the roles of wife and mother. Dorothy was never happier than when in the company of her large extended family. She enjoyed keeping the gardens at her home and was a past member of the Emblem Club of Natick.
Predeceased by Douglas in 1984, and their son David in 2006, Dorothy is survived by four daughters, Gail Hendricks of Natick, Lynn A. Sanderson of Natick, Marsha Cosgrove and husband Matthew Medeiros of Milford, and Jean Welch-Prindle and husband Fred Prindle of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Stacy Smith, Randy Hendricks, Brian, Michael, and Krystal Cosgrove, Joseph Medeiros, Alyxis Welch, Kelleigh Prindle, and Shannon and Summer Sanderson; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Woods, Randy Hendricks, Jr., and Richard and Rachael Smith; her foster son, Mark Fallon of Louisiana; her nephew, Richard Sanderson of Natick; and her dearest friend for more than 60 years, Teresa Allen of Natick. She was also the sister of the late Marguerite “Peg”, Ann, and John LeClair.
Her funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Wednesday, April 23rd at 9:00a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10am. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
