Elizabeth M. (Baldner) Dew, age 100, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died Sunday April 6, 2014 at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Ernest A. Dew; daughter of the late John F. and Elizabeth V. (Driver) Baldner and was sister of the late John J. and Edward G. Baldner and Betty Frawley.
She is survived by a daughter Barbara J. Ek and her husband Kenneth of Brockton; two grandsons Ron and his wife Ginny of Maine and Jim and his wife Rhonda of East Bridgewater; four great grandchildren Steven, Viktoria, Elizabeth and Ryan.
Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Randolph. For over 20 years she had been employed in the housekeeping industry for hotels, motels and hospitals, retiring at the age of 70 as Head of Housekeeping at Framingham Union Hospital. Known by most as “Dee Dee”, she was family oriented, independent and in her free time enjoyed reading, but most of all loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She recently enjoyed a 100th Birthday celebration with family and friends in February.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday, April 25 from 11am-12 noon with a funeral service at noon. Private family burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
