Joseph C. Cataldo passed away at the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge after a long illness. He was 76.

A lifelong resident of Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Giacomo and Lucia (D’Angelis) Cataldo. A hard working man, Joseph worked throughout his life to provide the best for his beautiful family. Early in his life he worked as a bartender, rug maker and painter. He worked with the City of Boston as a book binder for many years and later worked with the Massachusetts Court Facilities. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed the company of his relatives and many friends.


The beloved husband of Annette (Manzo) Cataldo, He was a devoted father to Joseph A. Cataldo and his wife Diane of Revere, Michele M. Wells and her husband Robert of Everett. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Joseph Cataldo and his fiancé Kristin Mahoney, Justin Cataldo and Robert Wells. He was a dear brother to Dolores Merola, Vilma DiFronzo, Daniel Cataldo and the late Anthony Cataldo, Susan Cataldo, Lydia Zizza, Josephine Mestone. Joseph leaves his dear brother-in-law Alfred Mestone as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday April 16th at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours kindly omitted.
