Shirley M. (O’Marrah) Rousseau Figurski, 83, of Worcester died on Sunday, April 13th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. Her first husband, Robert J. Rousseau died in 1960 and her second husband of 30 years, Stanley J. Figurski died in 1996. She leaves two sons, Robert J. Rousseau, Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Worcester and Randall E. Rousseau and his wife, Sue of Leicester; two daughters, Kathy Lanciault and her husband, David of Plano, TX and Sandra Maxwell and her husband, Michael of Clayton, NC; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters.
She was born in Shrewsbury the daughter of Herbert and Stavie (Zukowski) O’Marrah. Shirley was a teacher’s assistant for over 20 years with the Worcester Public Schools. She was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and an active member in the prayer group at Seabury Heights. Shirley had a passion for ceramics and knitting and enjoyed playing bingo.
Her funeral is Wednesday, April 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 15th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
