Obituary

Worcester – Donald E. Carlson, 79, of Worcester, died peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 10th after an illness.

Mr. Carlson was born in Worcester, son of the late Carl and Gladys (Hines) Carlson. He studied and earned an associates degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and worked as an electrical technician for many years and retired in 2005.

Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Carlson was a dedicated volunteer for over 50 years to the Boy Scouts of America where he served in various capacities at Troop #63. He was and avid model airplane builder and collector. He belonged to the “Academy of Model Aeronautics”.

Mr. Carlson is survived by his two daughters, Karen L. James and her husband Paul of Paxton and Susan J. Toro and her husband, Michael of Holden; a son, David Carlson of Worcester and 4 grandchildren, Eric James, Sara James, Alexandra Toro and Nathan Toro.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 10:30 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Calling hours are Monday, April 14th from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
