Mamie Sego Kitchens
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, April 10, 2014, Mamie Sego Kitchens, 92, wife of the late Hugh Kitchens.
Mrs. Kitchens was a native of Gough, GA and a former Miss Burke County. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took wonderful care of her family.
Family members include daughter: Ellen Kitchens Hamilton (Bobby) of Augusta; sons: Dr. Joseph Hugh Kitchens (Karen) of Tate, GA and David Jack Kitchens, Sr. (Debbie) of Harlem, GA; grandchildren: Carrie, Eric, Mary, Joseph, Joe III and David; great-grandchildren: Michael, Caroline, Bella, Riley, Faith, Colbie, and Eon; and sister: Betty Tant of Augusta. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Calvin Leon “Bubba” Sego, Jr., mother, Caroline “Carrie” Sego and father, Calvin Leon Sego, Sr.
A graveside service will be Sunday, April13, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in Rose Dhu Cemetery in Vidette, GA with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church TV Ministry, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
The family will receive friends for one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
