New Bedford – Maria Osvalda Vieira, age 80 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at New Bedford Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of Tobias Vieira and the daughter of Maria Amelia (Teixeira) and Jacinto dos Reis, Jr. Maria was born in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores, lived in Canada before moving to this country in 1985 and was dedicated wife and stepmother to her family.
Mrs. Vieira enjoyed drawing, sewing and gardening.
She leaves behind her husband, Tobias of New Bedford; and 3 stepchildren: Aldina Bianco of Acushnet, Mario Vieira and his wife, Maria, of New Bedford, and Paul Vieira of Acushnet.
Private arrangements were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
