Ellen Elizabeth (Pulson) Saia, 92, passed away in Quincy on April 8th, formerly of Plymouth. Wife of the late John Saia. Mother of Ellen McCaskil , and Mike Saia both of Canada, Ann-Marie McLaughlin of Quincy, John Saia and his wife Theresa of VA, and the late Joyce Mayo and George Baxter. She also leaves a daughter in law Linda Baxter, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Ellen was born in Framingham, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth (Dowd) Pulson and brother Clifford. Ellen lived life to the fullest, in 1940 at the age of 18, she received her pilots license and enjoyed playing many sports. She graduated from court reporting school in 1949 and worked for the Superior Courts for over 40 years. An avid Fisherman, Ellen could be seen driving her boat throughout the Boston/Quincy Bay or jumping on a fishing charter out of Scituate at a moments notice. As an Entrepreneur, she purchased the Old Waveland Hotel in Hull, Ma and enjoyed the company of it’s many residents, often helping out those less fortunate than herself. Upon retirement, Ellen served on the Board of Directors at Plymouth Mobile Estates. Ellen had many friends and enjoyed bowling, cards, square dancing and volunteering at the Catholic Charities in Plymouth, Ma. Ellen mastered her computer at the age of 80 and enjoyed her many friends around the world and loved the internet. From Model T to 4GB of RAM, she never slowed down. She will be always remembered as someone who lived life to it’s fullest.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St. (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth on Sunday April 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Parish on Monday April 14 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in Ellen’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley Street, W. Bridgewater
