MARSHFIELD - Anthony M. Lipson, 77, formerly of Hershey,PA and Acton,MA, died peacefully on Sunday evening, April 6, 2014, at his home in Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset. He was the dearly loved brother of Sheila Lipson and her husband Bob Norton of Marshfield, who were at his bedside. Anthony, known as Tony by his family, was born in England in 1936 and lived near London during WWII. At 9, he came to live in America, in upstate NY. After serving 6 years in the Air Force, Anthony went into the retail business, eventually opening his own store, Acton Paint and Wallpaper in Acton, MA, which he operated for 17 years. Anthony spent semi-retirement in Hershey,PA for 21 years, where he enjoyed the rolling hills and quieter life. After being diagnosed with a type of Parkinson’s, he moved to MA in 2009 to be near his sister and her family. He lived at the NE Friends Home in Hingham for a year, before moving to Sunrise in 2010.

Anthony was always appreciative of the people who helped and cared for him during his last five years. His caregivers were a wonderful source of kindness, laughter and support for him. They will always be cherished by his family.

There will be a memorial service followed by a reception this Sunday, April 13 at 1 pm at North Community Church, 72 Old Main St, Marshfield Hills, MA.
