Ethel E. (Padelford) Clement, age 93, of Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield passed away in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Life Care Center in Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roland L. Clement, Sr. to whom she was wed for 63 years at the time of his death.
Born in Raynham, MA December 9, 1920, she was a dear daughter of the late William M. and Annie E. (Walker) Padelford. She grew up in Raynham and was a 1938 graduate of Taunton High School. Ethel continued her studies to become a 1942 graduate of the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Clement had made her home in Attleboro for over 15 years and had formerly resided in Mansfield for many years. She retired in 1975 after working as a Registered Nurse for 19 years at the former Foxboro State Hospital.
While residing in Attleboro, Ethel was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church and was previously a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She loved spending time with her family and especially for the many years of faithfully caring for her late husband Roland.
She is survived by her devoted children, Ethel E. Carl and her husband Edward of Mansfield, Pauline A. Paiva and her husband Don of Mansfield, Roland L. Clement, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Attleboro and the late Mabel F. Noles. She is also survived by her cherished 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was predeceased by her granddaughters, Yvette Carl and Patricia Skinner, and also her 7 siblings.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, April 14th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 13th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
