GILFORD – Eleanor R. Van Winkle, 75, of 12 Breton Road, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born on January 26, 1939 in Milford, Conn., the daughter of James and Esther (Hanes) Peterson.
She is survived by three sons; William Van Winkle and his wife Teresa, Timothy Van Winkle and his wife Tracy and Thomas Van Winkle and his wife Jen, two daughters; Terri Buttermore and her husband Glenn and Joann Van Winkle, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and her honorary grandson, Cody Farrenkopt of Laconia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Alan Rodney ”Rip” Van Winkle in 2012.
There will be no calling hours.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
